We are parasites who profit from foreclosures. Who knew?
From a 'friend' on Facebook:

Union teachers work for the same governmental system that oppresses me. I'm not about to make a distinction amongst parasites at the federal level, parasites at the state level, and parasites at the local level. If you work for a tax-funded enterprise, every single dollar you receive was stolen from your neighbours. If you work as a private school teacher, a home school teacher, or as a private tutor, then you aren't paid with tax dollars. I don't know if that's the case.

You can no longer assert that your job is moral if you knowingly accept stolen money. And when the county sheriff comes and puts a widow out on the street for failing to pay her taxes, sells her home at auction, and has the proceeds distributed to city and county employees, including school teachers, it is jobs like "public school teacher" that caused that eviction. Live with that, every pay day, or change jobs.

I told him I am grossly underpaid and not profiting from any foreclosure. He replied:

If you don't like your pay, quit. If you think it is an honourable profession, practise it in the private sector. Taxation is theft. You have to look directly at the truth. When the sheriff puts your neighbours out on the street for failing to pay taxes, how is that just? And why do you get the proceeds from that house being sold?

You aren't meant to like these ideas.

So I said it's the banks that profit from foreclosures, not public employees. And he replied:

I'm not taking stolen money in my pay: you are. I'm not in a union demanding that the sheriff throw more families out of their homes so you and the other parasites can get more money. I understand that you find these words unfriendly. But the people who resist being evicted from their homes: their blood is on your hands. If your soul is so unclean, so foul, that you cannot see them suffering, or do not care, then perhaps you could do both of us a favour and stop pretending to be my friend.

I guess I'll have to talk to my union now and find out where all that foreclosure money is hidden.

1. "Taxation is theft" -- ah the Yosemite Sam argument
No, using Government resources and not paying for them is theft

Libertarians always squawk the same lines, over and over, thinking if they say it enough times, it becomes true

6. He's not really a friend
We worked on a project together and there was a Facebook group involved with that. That's how I know him. Then today out of the blue, he posted this foreclosure crap on my page.

I'm unfriending him as soon as this conversation is over. I'm kind of enjoying it in the meantime. I see stupid people. LOL

I mean, I know there's a lot of anti-teacher sentiment here at DU, but how can anyone find fault with the OP?
