I might be falling for someone again...
...and once again, I suspect that said person is not gay. He hasn't said anything that implies his orientation, however.

It seems that I always fall in love with the straight guys. Every so often I'll visit a gay hangout and find the people there to be difficult to relate to culturally. I don't drink, I don't care about celebrity culture or top-40 radio, and I don't like to wear Gap or Abercrombie. In short, I don't fit the cultural archetypes at all.

And most of the gay men I find are either too old or too flamboyant for my tastes. Anyone else out there with this specific problem?

2. maybe you're not looking in the right places
Have you tried gay bookstores or more culturally intellectual activities? What about personals?

3. My world, welcome too it
:hi:

You just need to find other venues. If you live in or near a larger city, there are plenty of options. Find a gay sports team: rugby, wrestling, soccer, football, water polo, field hocky, dodgeball, bowling, golf. Join a hiking club, bicycling club, gardening club, scooter club, cooking club or a club for gay men and women with yappy little dogs. If you want to polish your public speaking, many cities have gay Toastmaster groups. Or just find something that interests you -- politics, maybe, or the environment -- get involved and be open about your interest in men. You won't be the only person with that interest, I assure you.

I have no connection to R&P except loving their music and finding they have songs to fit just about every situation.

Enjoy
