1. Protests can take the form in many ways.. It doesn't have to be obnoxious
or rude.. Simply wearing a rainbow pin and turning one's back on the Gluttonous One, ole' rick would be suffice.

2. Of course they have their free speech rights!
I think it could be done with great dignity. Turning backs on Warren is something every good progressive should do, gay or straight. We should all stand in solidarity. Just no shoe throwing threats, that would be counter productive and get people in a lot of trouble with Security.

3. Definition of Protest = a non-violent demonstration that delivers the message in a
manner that places a its highest priority on increasing understanding and support?

Absolutely yes!

4. For those who are doing the "turning their backs" thing,
Shirts with "Dr. Jekyll" on one side and "Mr. Hyde" on the other would appropriately address the issue without being too incredibly disruptive.

5. Why is not being disruptive important?
It's a protest, it's supposed to be disruptive. Respect is a two-way street, if Obama wanted it from us he should've shown it to us.

9. To show we are more dignified than them.

It would still be talked about, but it would show them for the bigots they are and show us for a dignified response. It would do wonders for our side on PR to do a protest in a way that did not disrupt, yet still got the message across. Remember, PR is everything.

16. I agree, a noisy, embarrassing scene is called for
One insult after another. Our duty should be to be as intolerable as possible. The Power has said to us that they don't give a shit now that the election is over. This mr nice, invisible Gay shit is patently ridiculous

6. Hell yes, it is America
and the press will love it but if I were there I would want to be celebrating the departure of war criminals and the arrival of the new administration. I am not sure that there should even be a prayer before the ceremony and although I think Warren is an ass his two minutes will be long forgotten. Obama will be facing momentous problems unseen in modern times. If there are any prayers they should be directed towards giving him the strength to deal with the disaster he has inherited.

8. I agree with you on most of your statement but I think there is a deeper meaning to Warren...
My question is "What's next?" Warren is also going to be speaking at the MLK Commemorative Service this year and his desire is to have thousands of "purpose driven nations" around the world - 1st link. HIS Dream and HIS Purpose! If you haven't kept up with his "message" in Africa where Rwanda was designated as his 1st "nation" then you should also read the 2nd link.

10. We all know that Warren is here for much longer than 2 minutes.
He has been inserted into progressive politics in a way that is stunning, while he retains his own message without being repentant.

11. There's not enough info. and I don't like the choices.
Protest where? In DC? Nationwide?

What's the message of the protest?

I think Warren should be protested, but, I would want to see a thorough discussion about aims, goals and tactics.

So, for me the question is not should Warren be protested, but rather what is the most effective, time, place and manner of protest. That has not been explored.

Why ask such questions?

Because a failed protest, done half assed, or one that back fires does more damage than no protest at all.
