A glbt protest idea of warren or really any bigoted speaker,
I think a simple one would be to wear a white scarf and exchange marriage vows & rings with another person of the same gender while Rick Warren speaks. If there are enough people who are willing to do it, we can alert the media about it as well. Clearly, this person does not have to be your partner just someone willing to protest with you.

The white scarf would be an easy way to be noticed in the crowds

A televised multiple exchange of rings would be a far more visual protest to the millions who will be watching this.

I am not sure that it can be done at the inauguration, but maybe it can. It can also be done across cities.

This type of protest in my opinion would speak louder than booing

5. Bad color. Will not stand out. Every USN person on duty will be wearing one if the weather is
chilly.

And there will be THOUSANDS of Navy personnel there, doing crowd control and other duties.

Other branches have white scarfs too as part of their uniform component, I believe.

6. If there are any opposite sex couples going...
I would suggest that the man wears a bridal dress and the woman wears a tux, I think if a whole bunch of men in bridal dresses showed up to the inauguration a few people might take notice.

7. very good idea , but would take
more money and organiztion to get the numbers necessary. Guaranteed to grab headlines. Would need about a minimum of 20-25 couples.

8. instead of applauding, all the men in the audience should blow kisses . . .
and yell out something like "Love ya, baby!" . . .

while waving a rainbow flag . . .

and wearing a t-shirt that says "No one knows I'm a lesbian" . . .

and then turning and kissing the guy next to them . . . on the lips . . .

and then everyone should break into a choral rendition of "It's Raining Men" . . . in four part harmony . . .

yeah, that's the ticket . . .

11. You just want to tape it and send it in to "America's Funniest Videos", don't you?
Besides, what you described happens every June. And it doesn't help our cause then either, especially when the media comes and zooms in on the most obstreperous and claims we're all like that. But that's what people want so it's usually better just to let them do what they want. I don't know if you're GLBT or anti-GLBT or whatever, and maybe there's an ulterior motive to your post, but that idea of yours isn't going to do any good. (Oh, don't make a stand against what "Pride festivals" have become or else the trolls will call you homophobic, not bothering to know if the same people are against the debauchery of "Mardi Gras", amongst other related parallels...)

Lioness' idea of exchanging rings is affirming while not being disrespectful.

singing a chorus of "It's Raining Men", hooting, hollering, or lifting Hawaiian-like grass skirts to prove underwear is a needless expenditure isn't going to convince anybody of anything good.

In a word, it's civilized.

9. I thought Warren was to see a sea of backs turned towards him
during his prayer? Did that idea pass away?

16. I like your idea.
Hope it gets noticed. Most of the reporters will probably try and ignore any type of protest, but I think a few will won't be so ignorant.
