55 percent of Floridians want to overturn the gay adoption ban
http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=98670&catid=8

".... and they oppose the gay adoption ban 55 percent to 39 percent, according to the just released poll.

The poll also showed a majority of Floridians believe it is OK for gays and lesbians to adopt children. Democrats and independent voters were in the majority favoring of eliminating the ban while Republicans and white evangelical Christians supported the law.

But only 27 percent said gays should be allowed to marry while 35 percent favored civil unions and 31 percent said there should be no legal recognition of gay unions.

Pollsters surveyed 1,370 voters from Jan. 14-19 with a margin of error of 2.7 percent."

1. This story was picked up on the Orlando Sentinel website
You would not believe the ignorant, ugly posts in the comments section.
Sometimes I really hate this place.

2. Well the Sentinal has always catered to the conservative crowd in Orlando.
It's often (only half-jokingly) referred to as 'The Slantinal'.

We were SHOCKED when they actually endorsed Kerry in 2004. That was a huge sign of how bad Bush was doing when the always conservative paper was supporting the democratic candidate.

4. "gays should be allowed to marry" - WTF? "allow"? It's a legal right.

That's the problem, people think it is up to them to "allow" Teh Gays to do anything. :grr:

Yeah, right, I think I'll "allow" the Orlando Sentinel freedom of the press this month. :eyes:
