Someone was holding this sign outside the California Supreme Court last Thursday during the Proposition 8 hearing.



Proposition 8 has emboldened the violent bigots, just as such laws always do.

when bigotry is institutionalized by laws, then, this type of scum come crawling out.

When we're legally declared inferior what's to stop them?

it sends the message that it's OK on all fronts to commit hate crimes.

Yet nobody is screaming for constitutional bans on adultery and divorce, or the death penalty for lying. If the latter were to pass the entire RRRW would be dead in a matter of months.

7. "Sins" that relate to the dominant culture are overlooked conveniently

even contraception, a rigid Catholic rule, is overlooked by Catholics, who use contraception, or get divorced , then, turn around and pontificate about gays and lesbians.

People who live in glass houses... can be readily seen using contraception and singing divorce papers. :eyes:

4. I just finished the article in LL and the ugliness of the hate crimes

is beyond comprehension.

Of course historically we know where dehumanization leads. Never forget.

If these crimes were happening with the brazen opennes and frequency that gay hate crimes occur there would be an out cry beyond belief.

Instead, we still find ourselves explaining "why" marriage equality.
