Phone Banking for "No on 1".

Monday, March 23, 2009

6:30pm - 9:30pm

The Task Force Office
80 Maiden Lane, suite 1504
New York, NY

Join us Sunday and Monday as we call supportive voters in Gainesville,FL and let them know to vote NO on Charter Amendment 1, which would roll back current housing and employment protections that currently exist in Gainesville.

If voters pass Charter Amendment 1, it will once again be legal to fire someone on behalf of race, sexual orientation or gender identity.

We cannot let that happen.

Volunteer for Equality has been asked to help Gainesville defeat this heinous amendment, and we are heeding the call.

As always, we will train you and feed you.

RSVP and bring a friend! We need every voice we've got.

Not able to go on Sunday night, but will be phone banking on Monday. Anyone else able to make it?

4. Great!
I was mildly freaked the first time I did phone banking, but you get a script and a crash course in how to give push back.

6. I completely understand if you can't make it to the event.
But it would be great to finally meet you!

8. You will definitely see me there.
I might be a little quiet and shakey if I'm not in the greatest shape, but I'll be there. At the very least, I want to know what's going on.

At best, I want to know how I can get back into volunteering again. :)
