Adam Carolla Makes Ill-Informed Remarks on Gay Parents
http://glaadblog.org/2009/05/14/adam-carolla-makes-ill-informed-remarks-on-same-sex-families/

On the May 11 broadcast of the syndicated radio show Loveline, guest co-host Adam Carolla digressed from a caller’s question into a bizarre and misinformed rant on his perceived inferiority of same-sex parents.

CAROLLA: We just get it spoon-fed to us everything’s great, everything’s perfect, there’s no difference between, you know a couple of dads, a couple of moms, couple of bis and a couple of pre-op transsexuals, and a mom and a dad…no difference. Now look, I’m all for gays adopting but let’s not mistake it for being nearly as good as a mother and a father. It’s not nearly as good as a mommy and a daddy… all things being equal, it is much better for a mother and a father to raise a child than it is two of anything, all things being equal.

It’s unfortunate that Carolla misused his platform to spread misconceptions about gay and lesbian families. Virtually every credible authority on child health and social services (including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Child Welfare League of America) has determined that a parent’s sexual orientation has nothing to do with the ability to be a good parent. Kids of gay parents are just as healthy and well-adjusted as other children.

As a show popular with young people seeking love advice, it is Loveline’s responsibility to present their listeners with informed opinions. Tonight is Carolla’s last night as guest co-host. We urge you to contact Loveline and voice your concerns.

6. I have heard of him. And yeah, he's a bit of a moron.
I can't unreservedly bash him, since he's the guy who hung up on Ann Coulter when she was late for a radio interview, but as a rule it's a broken clock situation.

4. Carolla = "Girls On Trampolines"
Why am I not surprised at his ignorance?

He truly is stupid. Why he's given any kind of air time mystifies me ..................

9. Bingo! One of the more degrading things on TV featuring women.
I'd suggest the comeuppance of broadcasting Corolla sans briefs on a trampoline but without the magnification of the Hubble Telescope at our disposal, alas, it would just look like a Ken doll bouncing up and down.

5. You could shorten that subject, and it would still be true...

7. He's always specialized in that dumbass, frat-boy, low-brow,
overly-testosterone-fueled humor, so I can't say I'm shocked at his ignorance on this topic at all...

8. I used to listen to the 2002 & 2003 archives of loveline

They are easy to get on the net as mp3 and sometimes I needed a break from politics.
I think Adam was on Loveline from 1995-2005 as a regular host.

But I still like to listen to people with whom I don't agree with 100%, although I have to cringe sometimes.

After his station went Top 40, Adam started his own podcast(while still getting paid), I think he does skype questions or email questions maybe it's easier to talk to him that way.

I think the standard question always on Loveline was if someone had been molested, I had the impression from him that he thinks that this is a cause for everything, unfortunately Dr. Drew didn't object to that.

I remember an episode from 2003 where they had a Dr., who does gender operations and Adam threw in something about molestation which the expert denied.

10. I've not heard anyone say "there's no difference."
Of course there's a difference. But nothing more insurmountable than 99% of other families face. Managing a family is hard work, and full of problems. Same sex parents' problems managing the family are a bit different (and not the least because of the trouble heaped on them from the outside.) So what?
