Court throws out ban on exposing children to gays
The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday threw out a judge’s order that prohibited children in a divorce case from having any contact with their father’s gay and lesbian friends.

The ruling was hailed by gay rights groups who said the decision focuses on the needs of children instead of perpetuating a stigma on the basis of sexual orientation.

The state high court’s decision overturned Fayette County Superior Court Judge Christopher Edwards’ blanket prohibition against exposing the children to their father’s gay partners and friends.

1. A great decision!
I'm not thrilled with the phrasing of "exposing children to gays" in the headline, but at least the news itself is good.

However, I am ashamed of a great many of my fellow Californians.

7. Wow. I'm SO glad my family didn't live in GA and my dad never
came out, because NO ONE was going to tell me my life with my dad would be regulated, much less denied. He was my DAD. As his kid I can assure you I didn't CARE what his sexual persuasion was - other than there was conflict between Mom and Dad - which over 50 percent of heterosexual parents foist on kids...

My parents didn't divorce. My father was MY father - and no one in this country is going to tell me how valid he was based on ANYTHING he did in his private relationships. I would give anything to have him here still, now....
he was my dad - DAMN anyone who dismisses anyone's dad - or mom.... damn them....!
