I had the pleasure of getting to see the fine Reverend Al Green this past Friday at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. He did an hour long set that was truly amazing. He did a lot of preaching about love in between his songs. After he played "Let's Get Married," he asked the crowd, "do you know why we're down here? Cause we want two dudes to be able to that!" And the crowd went wild.
Which is why I love musicians in general. Al Green. There are a lot of good people out there. Your post isn't trivial. There is a machine that is working against us. It's counterproductive. But when you think back about the old man on his porch in the country, playing guitar to the birds. That's what we are. No hype. Just love. Beauty. I know this is simplistic. But I'm not fully awake here. And I like this whole concept. Good people. Simple ideas. No hype. No hate.
