Today is a good day. In Memory of my Uncle.
I found out a while ago that I could apply to have my uncle's dishonorable discharge upgraded. He was drummed out of the Navy over 40 years ago after (from what we had found out from his friends after his death) humiliation, degradation and extreme interogation. This week the upgrade should go through. It may be small potatoes to some. To me it is too long coming for a man who honorably served his country as both a sailor, and later on, sheriff's deputy.

9. He was a terrific uncle...
He sent me 100 dollars in a birthday card when I was ten. I was rich. I loved him so much and only wish he really knew how much.

6. I'm glad to hear that.
My uncle was Air Force and flew under the radar, so to speak.

It's shameful that men and women that put their lives on the line are treated this way, plain and simple.

14. The military service at my dad's funeral meant a lot to me.
It really was quite moving, and no one who served should be denied that opportunity.
