Target CEO: Sorry for $150K Donation
*cough* BULLSHIT *cough*

Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel (pictured) has sent a letter of apology to Target employees for the company's $150,000 contribution to a conservative political action committee that backs antigay Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer.

"The intent of our political contribution to MN Forward was to support economic growth and job creation," he wrote in a letter acquired by Minnesota Public Radio. "While I firmly believe that a business climate conducive to growth is critical to our future, I realize our decision affected many of you in a way I did not anticipate, and for that I am genuinely sorry."

Minnesota Forward supports Republican gubernatorial candidate Emmer, who openly opposes marriage equality. He is also friends with musician Bradlee Dean, who has said Muslim countries that execute gay people are "more moral than even the American Christians."

Steinhafel added that the company will begin a "strategic review and analysis" of financial contributions for public policy issues. The company will also take a "leadership role in bringing together a group of companies and partner organizations for a dialogue focused on diversity and inclusion in the workplace, including GLBT issues."

2. if he wants economic growth and jobs he's sniffing up
the wrong party.
Maybe some stockboy should show him some charts of what the economy looks like under Dems vs. Repub. Not even a contest.

But he did get me to stop shopping at Target.

3. Too damn late. My boycott to Target has been effective for the last 3 weeks
and Target needs to stop donating to GOP causes and start donating to progressive causes to show that they are truly caring corporation.

Target is going the way of Wal-Fart.

5. Mine has been going on for about a year
since I first read how they're ending full time positions with bennies in their stores and busting people who have worked there for years back to part timers with no bennies and a lower paid job title.

The way they treat their people SUCKS and I won't go there any more.

I hate that because they were the big box store with the best buyers.

I imagine it's all coming from Steinhafel and he needs to get dumped.
