Tom of Finland’s new crib to host arts fundraiser
http://lgbtweekly.com/2011/12/01/tom-of-finlands-new-crib-to-host-arts-fundraiser/

Tom Time, a gala exhibition at Pleasures & Treasures

Pleasures & Treasures’ new location in Hillcrest is where you need to be Friday night from 7-10 p.m. if you’re a fan of that eternally young and beautiful bruiser named Tom of Finland, for a fundraiser to support emerging LGBT artists and makers of LGBT art.

Billed as a place where you can “explore your inner adult,” this premier local home of the Tom of Finland franchise (not the only place in town to enjoy Tom of Finland creations) recently moved from a small house near Hillcrest to a much larger space in North Park. The new site boasts a mezzanine, a classroom and a gallery space.

Pleasures & Treasures’ gallery space is the venue for Tom Time, a gala exhibition reception and fundraiser benefitting the Tom of Finland Foundation (ToFF).

Based in Los Angeles, the Tom of Finland Foundation is a non-profit organization, established in 1984, whose mission is to archive and present the work of Tom of Finland and to encourage and promote a new generations of artists.

***love me some tom of finland.

1. I'd love to see that!
I saw Tom of Finland about 30 years ago (jeebus, has it been *that* long??) when he came to an IML in Chicago. IIRC he didn't bring any prints, but I did score a couple of Etienne Gold Coast prints. They're framed and hanging in my bedroom.

Lord, how I miss the old Gold Coast on Clark Street. Like Mae West said, when I'm good, I'm very, very good. When I'm bad, I'm better

3. And the Redoubt when it was across the side street
Then it moved, got a restaurant (which was damn good, actually) and kinda got foofy. There was the cutest li'l British waiter there. One evening I was having dinner by myself and he came over and asked if I would like anything for dessert. I looked him dead in the eye and said "the waiter". He smiled and said "I leave work at midnight. Stick around."

Wuff.

LOL... just a slight difference in our style, m'dear... I was a lot of fun

Edit to add:

Oh, now you're going all S&M on me. Y'know, Streisand and Midler.
