Weirdly homophobic question at White House press briefing
I was reading the White House transcript of yesterday's press briefing, mainly because I was curious to see first-hand what kind of weaseling and waffling Scott McClellan would engage in rather than provide honest direct answers about the Cheney shooting incident.

The attack-sheep in the press were fairly persistent in their bleating, and Scotty was probably feeling a little harrassed, when out of nowhere came the following question:

Q There are Canadian news reports that the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal has contended that one of the sexual orientations is sadomasochism, while in Ottawa, the Justice Department has called for the legalizing of polygamy. And my question: Does the President recognize these developments as logical progression from the current demand for same-sex marriage by the sodomy lobby?

MR. McCLELLAN: Are you talking about Canada? (Laughter.)

Q Canada, yes.

MR. McCLELLAN: Well, direct your questions to Canada.

Q No, no, no, I wanted to know what does the President think about this.

Does anyone know who on earth it was who asked this question?

How do such lunatics get into press briefings?

Here's the link to the complete transcript. It's worth reading, especially if you have a morbid sense of humor, but there's no additional context or info about the wacky homophobe. A reporter for Phelps News, maybe?

11. It really did sound Gannon-esque, at least as a strategy for ducking
the question. Didn't work, though.

15.  what gets me
Is Gannon is being ignored while Bushco tries to scapegoat gays.
Maybe if Gannon was pushed in Bush's face more he would be seen for the hypocrite he is and Gay Marriage would not be an issue anymore because just like funeralgate and Cheny's shooting ,bush would want it to"go away"?Because everytime Bush brought up how awful gay marrage would be his Gay affair would be brought up too.

9. Yep. The K-Y Street Project. That's where they keep the Agenda.
Tom DeLay insists they only hire Republicans if they want access to this administration...

6. He's been there since christ was a corporal and he
always asks some stupid, off the wall, usually religious oriented question. He's in love with his own mellifluous voice and thinks, since he hears him mouth moving and words coming out, that he must be asking a deep, world hanging in the balance, question.

8. Bush
Liked Gannon ,had him in the whitehouse in the dead of night.
A "top" with the military look...

Alot of power hungry sociopaths get off on S/M games.
And I myself don't see S/M as sane or as love. People will disagree with me but I always wonder what makes a person learn to like being abused? What causes them to like pain.Every child I see avoids pain wants to avoid abuse.. So what makes some adults learn to get off on it?
And why don't people into s/m ask that question about their own desires, and why do they avoid discussing issues like trauma and issues like child abuse and the manipulation of consent, the retraumatization process, addiction to power/pain and endorphins, and how that could be influencing their fetish? S/m people get really defensive or go into denial about these topics wonder why?

I know this post will illicit disagreements But these questions I need to ask. Why? Because I am scared and pissed off at sadists ,torture and abusers I HATE them. Because I have been hurt by selfish, sadistic people before and I feel the social dominator mentality, the bully mentality and this blame the victim mentality that idiot assholes like Cheney or Mel Gibson display,is a reflection of how the s/m game has infiltrated our culture and made is abusive.

Some people with FETISHES(not the same thing as an orientation) have trouble containing the attraction of thier fetish from seeping into regular life and coloring how they interact.Foot fetish people asking to touch my feet at a park,I have been approached by masochists at a salad bar in Ruby tuesdays.. Some fetishists are obessed with thier fetish..and I see this as a sign of something not right in thier life.

13. You should post this on its own thread. It's worth discussing.
I have a few thoughts of my own on the subject, and no doubt others do too. It might make for an interesting conversation.

16. Well, if you are willing to try it again...
I'll look in after supper and join the discussion. If you just cut and paste your posts #8 and #10, that should be enough to get things started. I won't comment on the subject here, but if you start another thread I promise not to attack you!

18. this was a floated balloon
a chance to put the idea in the minds of their base without telling them it was a talking point.

Nothing more. Same sex marriage between committed adults is a natural progression of opposite sex marriage between committed adults. Period.
