Australian PM Admits Meeting With Anti-Gay Extremist Sect
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/09/092606howard.htm

Australian Prime Minister John Howard on Tuesday admitted to having met with members of an extremist shadowy sect tied to dirty tricks campaigns against moderate and liberal politicians in Australia and New Zealand, and whose interventions have attempted to influence votes on LGBT issues.

The group calls itself The Exclusive Brethren and organizations that track cults believe it has about 40,000 members around the world.

The Brethren eschews TVs, radios, personal computers and mobile phones. Its members are encouraged to have no contact with the modern world and not to attend universities.

But despite the prohibitions the sect allegedly has a number of millionaires and members who are involved in political parties in Australia, New Zealand and other countries. Attempts to determine if the cult has penetrated American politics have been unsuccessful.
