Daddy! Mommy! Please stop gay-bashing long enough to feed us!

The following is an email from the gay-bashing fundies who think Civil Rights should be put up to a popular vote:

Write A Letter to The Editor in Support of Senator Scott Brown

This week, several news stories were published in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Metro West Daily News, Milford Daily News and Attleboro Sun Chronicle regarding comments State Senator Scott Brown made at a local high school.

Click Here to read the story from the Boston Globe:

http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2007/02/10/senator_causes_stir_by_reading_profanity/

On a facebook website promoting "gay rights" at the school, profane statements were directed at Senator Brown and his family. The profanities were posted by students who objected to Senator Brown's January 2 vote in the legislature to put the marriage amendment before the people, after a history teacher decried Browns support for letting the people vote.

When Senator Brown, who was understandably upset, repeated the profanities the students had directed at him at a school assembly, and named the students who had posted them, teachers and the principal objected.

Please take a moment to write a letter to the editor decrying the comments made by students, and the school's reaction to them and Senator Brown. Officials at the King Philip Regional School did nothing about the attacks against the senator made by students on the webpage. By attacking Senator Brown for drawing attention to poor student behavior, these officials are blaming the victim, and teaching students to be disrespectful of an honorable public servant who is doing his job.

Click on the link below to send a letter to your local papers, and to view talking points to help you compose your own individualized letter. Please limit your letter to 150 words or less, and include your full address and phone number to increase the likelyhood it will be printed. Thank you.

Mommy! Daddy! You forgot to put your hoods on!

1. Worry about your OWN marriage,
not somebody else's. If two gays (who you don't even KNOW) getting married is enough to destroy YOUR marriage, you need some serious counseling.

2. That's right. Let the majority rule on minority protections.
It's a wonder these people's skulls don't collapse from the vacuum inside.

4. I'm always reminded of the title of that Tennessee Williams bio
"The Kindness of Strangers" Seems like that's exactly what our rights depend on. The kindness and goodwill of millions of people we will never know, but who support us in our struggle for full equality as citizens of this country. Sooner or later they will outnumber the knuckle-draggers, but probably even after that happens we'll still be fighting crap like this.

5. You've got to be kidding me!
For an organization that features children in their logo, they are all too eager to crucify them in the name of a state senator!? :banghead: The mind boggles...
