because her mic was cutoff when she was up with her group. She apparently couldn't just enjoy the moment of winning an Oscar, because backstage Jon Stewart said that the other musician wanted to have their Oscar's kiss, but she told him, 'but they're both guys!'

Either the guy or John said, "it's okay, it's Hollywood!"

Yeah, because there's no gay people outside of Hollywood... and who assigns a gender to statues when someone makes a light-hearted in the moment joke about them each having an Oscar? (on edit: I realize it may have been a stupid joke by her, but it may not have been, who knows, but it still was an immature comment of Mr. Stewart to broadcast to over a billion people).

Sorry, it's just no matter how hard I try, there's someone saying "ewwww gross, gays" every time I look at the TV, listen to the radio, or go to WDW where I work.

... as long as you were willing to accept their abuse. I was willing to accept it and rubbed their noses in their hypocrisy on a daily basis.

I never violated a single rule, but I was banned. My last three bannings were quick and painless when I'd re-register under another, obvious name -- like "Cuz Blix" -- announce who I was, and ridiculed them for being hypocrites.

You should take a peek over there some time -- it's dying. Maybe 20 posts per day tops in their forum dedicated to making fun of DU. They didn't seem to understand that the only time they got traffic was when they allowed DUers to come in and bitch. They banned them, and now the place is a yawn fest.

and while I didn't watch the Oscars I would have found the "it's two guys/it's okay, it's Hollywood" comments to be pretty stupid -- I mean, Kerrist, it's the 21st century.

And I don't think it means you don't have a sense of humor. It means some people are too stupid to get what it is you're saying. (I know, I know, I'm always telling people to be nice, but sometimes ... )
