This isn't a partisan hack. This is one of the premiere investigative journalists in the country. ...on Equal Treatment Under The Law vis a vis the GLBT community, Senator Obama is fair game here. Of course, Senator Clinton as not exactly been squeaky clean in this area either, but again, I believe the McClurkin/Caldwell issues make this more of a subject for discussion here.

Discussions of the foibles of a candidate are taboo here, in your opinion.

In this case, the Candidate is Obama. There is a certain Schadenfreude here regarding the man. Note the number of threads where something other than positive is said of Senator Obama. If you start alerting all of them, I don't think you'll be very popular here.

However, as the token old fat white straight male here on sufferance of the forum, I merely make the suggestion.

You don't like what you perceive as "Primary Posts" here. Fair enough, and no farther.

However, the fact of the matter is that certain candidates feel that "Homosexuality is not immoral," and others feel that "Homosexuals are not immoral." As I have said elsewhere, the former is a foot in the door to move closer to Equal Treatment Under The Law, while the latter is like line from a recruiting pamphlet for Catholic Priests: as long as you don't do anything, we forgive you.

That said, it appears that the campaign of one candidate in particular has BECOME a GLBT issue. Most of the threads here bear this out.

20. The Obama thing is relentless....

Man, ever since I went public with my doubts and general unhappiness with Obama it's been bad. The Obama supporters across the street hustle their kids inside and pull their shades when we get home from work. Clouds spelling out the initials "HC" with a line across them regularly appear in the sky over our house and we don't even support her.

The folks at our neighborhood vegan restaurant wave sage wands over our table after we have gotten up to pay the bill. Our cats have been giving us the eye and arranging their hairballs in the shape of an "O". A couple of ex-gays at the Foursquare Church have been after us to get together with them for a couple of beers and some "therapy".

It goes on and on. And at the end of the day, no matter how much we fight it, we fall asleep immediately after getting in bed because, as we all know, the dream must not be deferred.
