It's kind of sad, for being the 4th largest city in the country, Houston doesn't have any gay athletic teams (that we've been able to find at least). We did have the Houston Roughnecks Rugby team, but they broke up the year before I moved here. :( Would LOVE to get on a gay rugby team as a prop!

I've seen some stuff from shows of hers that you've linked to, and when she was on the stage she was all rocker chick, all business. In the picture up there in the OP she's in a group photo with you, so she's got a little smile. But in this one, she's got her arms wrapped around you and there's a big grin on her face.

So my theory is this: The size of the smile on Lisa's face seems to be directly proportional to her proximity to you. :)

Here's one of me and our 2 dogs (was taken early last year), the large fellow is Claudius who past away this past July 14th at the age of 14, and the smaller spunky one is Ms. Cocoa Channel (yeah, we know that's not the same spelling as THE Coco Channel). Both are/were rescue dogs.


And this is Ms. Claudia Octavia, our most recent addition to the family. She was only 9 weeks at this point. She is also a rescue dog.

82. Out of curiosity, what do you write?

I wanted to be a writer when I was younger, but eventually I realized that although I'm great at writing and imagery and all that stuff... I'm a horrible story weaver. :P

I started with an area of fiction that was my first love: "the murder mystery." The first one also included a touch of the supernatural as well. With a main character whose life is loosely based upon my own. But what I found is that to write a murder mystery effectively, you have be able to "get into the mindset" of a killer. I had no idea how traumatic that could be. I'd have to stop for a few days after writing a gruesome murder scene because it is so jarring to realize that your yourself can even envision that level of depravity. At least that was they way it was for me anyway. I've written two novels that would be classified as murder mysteries.

Since then, I've mostly dropped the murder part and concentrated on mysteries and romance. The last four novels I've written are gay oriented with the het characters playing the foils and the antagonists. Of course. Being a het myself I can speak to this issue and craft my work in a way that I hope brings shame. And maybe enlightenment. It should in my view. A gay publisher has read 3 of my works and she told me to concentrate on one novel in particular. So I've been re-thinking along with re-writing it for about a year now.

This is purely a pleasure for me. I never expected that writing would become my new vocation. I've had my own business since 1991 and am comfortable if nothing else. If I ever were published, I'd decided that any proceeds would be donated to my favorite charities, The Point Foundation being at the top.

I've also written four short stories and began writing poetry while I was still in college back in the Neolithic Period :P. Actually, I've been writing something for as far back as I can remember. My advise to anyone who wants to write is to stay at it. And as far as story-weaving is concerned, that can be learned. The core story is what you start with and if its interesting, then you can learn to make it better.
