2. Also
in Brokeback Mountain as well which shows she has no issues with nudity. I loved her in both Princess Diary movies and Devil Wears Prada. Don't think I have sen here in anything other than those mentioned.

3. You are correct -- brought me to tears
I've always admired her work but now I realize where that excellence comes from.

4. She was really good in Brokeback Mountain
I was kind of surprised since the only things I'd seen her in to that point were those cheesy Princess movies.

She's extremely classy though, something sorely lacking in most of today's "starlets".

6. I think
what's amazing is in Brokeback she played a rather cold hearted bigot towards the end, or at least thats how I saw her character. Same with Randy Quaid, who I hear is also very pro gay rights.

11. Great speech
Short and to the point + it had a lot of heart. She just wasn't talking or reading, those words had meaning. This is nothing new. There was a talk show she was on (Leno? Letterman?) Where she said something like, and I am paraphrasing " anyone who does not support gay marriage is not a friend of mine. We can be acquaintances or relatives. But not friends. My friends treat everyone equally." The way she said it made me remember it very clearly. If I find the show where she said it I will be sure to post it.

My question is this. Over the past week or two we have had congressmen and senators speak out against gays in such ugly hate speech that it has made its way onto blogs and cable news. Why won't a beautiful speech like Ms.Hathaway's be broadcast over the cable news or posted on blogs? Its so one sided. I think she should be praised and this speech should be posted everywhere.

13. Dear Anne,
Thank you for your offer to "give hell" to anyone who tries to hurt us. Would you please GIVE HELL to California Assemblymember Bob Huff who, with bills AB 2085 and AB 2086, is trying to deny civil rights and basic protections to gay and lesbian youth? Please visit EQCA's website to take action against these hateful and harmful bills:
