What do I tell DNC when they call for $?
Edited on Tue Apr-08-08 02:46 PM by mitchtv
I have had it up to here with Onama/Hillary measuring out support by the dram.I am not really up to date with Dr Dean and "the lawsuit" about the Gay outreach or lack of it, and that useless hunk of baggage Donna Brazille's comments on Gay rights, I nee a few good memorizable talking points when they call. ( They usually get a small check after a mailer, lately I've been round filing them). I need to Know how much to blame Dean, if at all.

and ask them how gay rights can be an affront to civil rights.

You might also ask them how Michigan and Florida were not as important to their 50-state plan as Iowa and Nevada (I'm champing at the bit for them to call me so I can ask them that!) It's not the after-the-fact stuff. It's that they didn't think they were important to begin with.

2. You should look for a GLBT/Q Democratic Caucus or organization, and donate to them
instead, if that's where your major issue concerns are.

Even better if you can find one on the state level.

4. the state has been good
But there are issues with them as I am in a red zone and they give no support to our (local) candidates. I know what to tell them ;"Get rid of Art Torres first" This year it will be individual candidates only.

6. One disatrous losing campaign after another
For example I live in the desert cities area. It is now combined to be a decent sized city we have four local broadcast stations. We were inundated with ads in all the last elections , by the repubs, Not one fucking one for gray Davis, or later Phil Angelides, our local races are similarly ignored in an area that in nominally repub, but could swing if an effort was ever made. They just want our money to represent SF and LA f'm.All politics is local , you don't concede areaswhen elections are at large statewide, and every vote counts. We don't use electors, you campaign in red counties too.

3. What I have been saying...
"When the national party deigns to actively support my fundamental human rights as a gay man, this gay man will deign to actively support the national party. Not until."

Funny how I don't get solicitation calls any more, isn't it? :eyes:
