Flashback 1996: Ad Touts Clinton's Opposing Gay Marriage

In a radio advertisement aimed at religious conservatives, the Clinton campaign is showcasing the President's signature on a bill banning gay marriages in spite of earlier White House complaints that the issue amounted to ''gay baiting.''

The advertisement also promotes President Clinton's work to protect religious freedom and says he wants ''a complete ban'' on late-term abortions ''except when the mother's life is in danger'' or when a woman ''faces severe health risks.''

It refers to Mr. Clinton's support of the Defense of Marriage Act, which the President signed into law last month, to the dismay of many gay rights advocates. Mr. Clinton signed the law early on a Saturday morning, minimizing news coverage. He said he had long agreed with the principles in the bill but hoped it would not be used to justify discrimination against homosexuals.

2. Apparently he is, since she takes credit for all the good things of the Clinton years.
And yet ignores the bad things.

6. Glad to see you can't mount an actual defense on real facts.
You do know that Obama's the only serious presidential candidate who's ever gone into a church and lectured against homophobia, right?

8. Two sentences in a much longer speech are now a lecture?
Senator Obama does not own the high ground on this subject at all.

10. fact is Hillary wasn't afraid to have her photo
Edited on Mon Apr-21-08 10:17 PM by mitchtv
taken with Gavin Newsom
Fact is barak doesn't want to discuss equality unless the gOP "forces" him to. Fact is strate men have nothing to tell me about this subject
Fact is I don't want to defend Hillary's POV ( certainly not much better than Obama's)on Gay rights, I just react to the trashing of Democratic politicians. And with all the new politics esposed by Obama it is apparent that very little has rubbed off on his followers. I tend to criticize His Adherents more than I criticize the Anointed One .That doesn't mean I am comfortable with someone I feel doesn't like me, or anything about me, which sorry to say , I get from BO. All the attacks on Hillary will not do that. An apology for his part in the McCloset case would go a long way in the department. Picking a Gay White minister to make an appearance was offensive, as he did nothing more than invocate and perpetuate the White vice aspect. similar to the old soviet Capitialist vice idea.
