Gay friendly companies. Bravo and Apple
This site first alerted me to the study.
http://www.macnn.com/articles/08/05/15/apple.is.gay.friendly/ but this is the site with the original article
http://www.planetout.com/news/article.html?2008/05/13/4

Showtime, HBO, Absolut and Levi's also rated high.

Having a Lesbian sister in law that I love dearly makes me sensitive to GLBT issues. My attitude is, mess with her rights, you are messing with family. You mess with family, you are messing with me. You stand up for her rights, you are standing up for my family.

I would have posted this in GD but because it mentions Apple, it might attract off topic replies. They know I am an Apple Fan boy.

1. My rather conservative employer, which denies domestic partnership benefits,
just recognized my Canadian marriage of last month and is permitting my spouse to have health benefits.

2. Are you Canadian?
If so he merely did what he was required but if you are American, it sounds like a nice step.

3. today's free iced coffee day at Dunkin' Donuts
I don't go there usually anyway since there are about 5 or more independent coffee shops within the same area, but today I'll go and enjoy kicking an LGBT-bigoted company in the balls.

I'm often dubious about these studies, since like PETA they tend to ignore other abuses the companies commit... I'm willing to add to my boycott list, but not subtract until all issues are addressed.

12. Mobil was good. But Exxon got rid of Mobil's domestic partnership benefits when they merged.

13. IBM, Levi Strauss, and a few others
IBM and Levi Strauss are pioneers in the area. (Levi Strauss has a gay CEO and historically has been one of the most politically enlightened companies in the country.)

Other companies that support the gay community are American Airlines, Merck, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan, Intel, Kimpton, Wyndham and Wells Fargo, among others.

14. I can attest to JP Morgan Chase

Despite getting laid off due to outsourcing, they were the best company I've ever worked for WRT LGBT issues. Not only did they give DP benefits but the company was also extremely enlightened on trans issues (I think the insurance even covered costs related to transitioning). I was a member of the LGBT employee group there (PRIDE), my boss was gay, and so was one of my trainers. No one was at all fearful about being out on the job. It's really about the only place I've ever worked where I could really let my hair down and be myself. Diversity and anti-discrimination was taken extremely seriously, not just paid lip service to.

I'd work for them again in a heartbeat.
