Tell me about aneurisms
A good friend collapsed today and is in ICU. She is having surgery in the morning. Doesn't sound good at all.

I keep thinking well Biden survived one.

So what do you all know to help me know more?

Thanks.

1. Are you talking about ones in the brain or of the aorta?
My father had one of the aorta, had surgery and lived for 10 more years. He died of something totally unrelated.

The brain ones I know nothing about.

Best of luck to your friend.

2. My mother survived hers and they didn't think she would...
...it was in a very bad location - hopefully your friend's is in a better location. They just go in and clip it with a titanium clip. She will be in intensive care for two weeks and during that time they know how to do everything necessary to get her through to recovery.

After that she will probably need a couple of weeks of rehab.

I'll be thinking of her and you tomorrow - good luck.

5. Did it rupture?

If so and it's in her brain then she had a hemorrhagic stroke. Hopefully that's not the case. My thoughts and prayers.

David
