Health Care Leaders Say Obama Overstated Their Promise to Control Costs
Could it be that the Obama Administration 'heard' what it wanted to hear? It sounds like Enron accounting to me.

Hospitals and insurance companies said Thursday that President Obama had substantially overstated their promise earlier this week to reduce the growth of health spending. . ."cut the rate of growth of national health care spending by 1.5 percentage points each year - an amount that's equal to over $2 trillion."

In the bulletin, Richard J. Pollack, the executive vice president of the hospital association, said: "The A.H.A. did not commit to support the 'Obama health plan' or budget. No such reform plan exists at this time."
Moreover, Mr. Pollack wrote, "The groups did not support reducing the rate of health spending by 1.5 percentage points annually."

Two other lobbyists who attended the White House meeting confirmed Mr. Pollack's account.

Daniel Sisto, president of the Healthcare Association of New York State, which represents hospitals and nursing homes, said, "There is a high level of anxiety about the overall goal of $2 trillion in savings, especially in a state like New York, which has had severe cost constraints for three decades."

1. Just Like They Do
when you file a claim.
Always some excuse as to why you're
not "covered".

They cannot be trusted...ever!

2. They are simply backtracking.
Good. Means that Pres. Obama didn't give in to their demands.

We all saw them standing behind him as he was talking...and that was on Monday.
Why wait till Friday to say there was a misunderstanding?
Doesn't pass my Bullshit smell test.

4. No kidding? Well, I'll be darned...
That'll teach somebody a lesson. I guess.

And how about a nice, juicy K&R for the bastards in the health "industry" while I'm mulling it all over.

5. We really don't need the insurance companies. Single payer
can do the job quite well, thank you. After all, it does the job in many other countries.

9. It took them THREE DAYS to "notice" Obama's "mistake?"
Could it be that the AHA's members have been giving them three days of hell because they know it would cut into their profits?
