History of Democrats helping blacks
Hello, Yes I'm a newbie here and already am asking for help. My brother is a conservative freak. He's trying to tell me that historically the democratic party has done nothing to help black people. He's insistant that "The Party of Lincoln" has by far done more. Can someone point me in the direction of some good articles or other info to beat him. I did a google search, and hate to say it, most seemed to point in his direction. Maybe I'm not doing something right.

1. Yeah....sure.
Then your brother would have no problem making that case at the local NAACP HQ.

2. I'm not the NAACP
They're a little bit more informed. But if you could help that would still be great

if you've figured it out and have the MLK avatar why do you need our help?
Can you find in history where LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act?

4. I didn't choose the avatar.
I like the avatar though. It was just given to me. Concerning the civil rights act, He keeps pointing out that it was a republican congress that pushed it through. More republicans voted in favor than democrats. I've seen that part. I need some stuff to throw back. Thanks

5. You'll need to start in the 1950s
The track record before that (and even into the 1970s in the South) was miserable.
