1. It is sooooo ironic that, if they get their way, it will result in weaker

"Christians" not stronger ones.

The mind is very much like a muscle, if you don't use it, it grows weaker. In the kind of society that these people envision, no one will have to deal with moral problems, everything will be governed by "Christians" and "Christian" laws. Because they never had to decide for themselves what is right and wrong, when presented with unusual or novel circumstances, their ability to respond appropriately will not have been developed, so they will collapse, e.g. the good "Christians" who helped Hitler destroy 6 million Jews.

Psychology is full of research that shows the most common basis of moral reasoning is response to authority, not actual moral problem solving.

3. I always thought it would come down to this
Since Dole ran for pres and the fundies were complaining about stupid shit. Science, abortion, gay marriage, and non-Christian religions would be banned. Got to love ignorance. How do they think they can maintain a superpower without plenty of educated, employed people?

4. In my opinion, D. James Kennedy is one of the most dangerous men in
America. He is a dominionist, DESPITE the protestations to the contrary of his "Spokesman". He wants nothing less than a COMPLETE takeover of government by theocrats of his particular stripe because he thinks this will make things better. If he were to ever succeed, I am a dead man. Or at least would be jailed for having the balls to publicly tell him and others like him that they are full of shit and their god is a total myth. The man is worth watching for no other reason than it is wise to know thine enemies, and he IS your enemy if you value freedom of conscience. His nationally broadcast "Coral Ridge Hour" is little more than him railing for an hour about the various ills (As HE SEES THEM) of this country, IE;
"The homosexual Agenda" (one of his favorites) Evolution (Another fave that he, it seems, is convinced is at the root of most if not all evils in the United States) the"Christian Foundations" of the U.S., Abortion, etc.

Watch out for this asshole. He has the ear of many powerful people and he is DANGEROUS.
