Judge: Parents can't teach pagan beliefs
http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050526/NEWS01/505260481

An Indianapolis father is appealing a Marion County judge's unusual order that prohibits him and his ex-wife from exposing their child to "non-mainstream religious beliefs and rituals."

The parents practice Wicca, a contemporary pagan religion that emphasizes a balance in nature and reverence for the earth.

Cale J. Bradford, chief judge of the Marion Superior Court, kept the unusual provision in the couple's divorce decree last year over their fierce objections, court records show. The order does not define a mainstream religion.

1. Wow...
Isn't this exactly the kind of thing this country was created to escape? That's insanity.

Over both parents objections? Who the hell does this idiot think he is? Where are the Fundies who don't like being told "how to raise their children"? Where are the decriers of the "nanny state" now?

Any ideas how to contact this guy?

3. And yet, judges allow people's religious beliefs to be used
which deny life-saving health care, while also denying health care to poor regardless of religious beliefs . . .

What a Fristed-up world this country is in . . .

Who is this "activist judge" to claim what is mainstream. Paganism is the fastest growing religion in the world. Just more Xian ethnic cleansing that we have had to suffered for the last two thousand years.
