The average Christian's head would explode if they realized that most of their religious traditions (and even the holidays themselves) were co-opted from pagan faiths and practices that date back to the dawn of man. Especially the fundies: They are taught no history of their own faith. (Been there, done that, still have panic attacks about the rapture.)

Virgin-born messiahs were not unheard of prior to Xianity, nor were gods that sacrificed themselves to redeem the world.
