1. As a great way to deal with
the aftermath of the George W. Bush presidency, yes.

3. There would have to be some guidelines, but a person with a
terminal illness who is capable of making a rational decision should be able to ask his/her physician for a way to end their own lives when they deem it has become intolerable.

7. 2 states out of 50. It's a beginning. Are there more liberals in the West than East?

6. Absolutely in favor
Eight years ago, a friend of mine developed full-blown intestinal cancer. It got so bad (despite repeated surgery, chemo, the works) the tumors were pushing on his lungs and making it uncomfortable for him to breathe. In those circumstances, there's no palliative care; all the painkillers in the world can't help you breathe easy. Fortunately, this was in the Netherlands, so he had the option to ask for euthanasia, and he took it.

And I think it's an option that should be available to every person who is of sound mind but terminally deteriorating body.

8. Any person should be allowed to decide to take their own life, and
if someone is willing to help, they ought to be allowed. Nobody should be forced to either live, or to kill. I think I mean "yes."

9. Of course it should be...
The only problem I see is figuring out who is in their right mind, who is not, and where the line is drawn.
