Colorado Specific Question WRT Sobriety Checkpoints
I heard on the news tonight that CSPD is doing check points again this week end and that they have motorcycle cops staged some distance before them to stop anyone that looks like they’re trying to avoid the checkpoint.

So, my question if I see a check point a block or so a way am I required to go through it? If I get pulled over for turning off I know that I’m not required to answer any questions, although they can make my life miserable if I don’t.
If any one can quote relevant statutes I’d appreciate it

1. I can't help you there but I think it's dastardly. And it's been done before.
I seem to recall a situation maybe ten years ago in which checkpoint warning signs were set up immediately before a highway exit warning of a checkpoint at the following exit.

Drivers getting off that first exit were presumed to be avoiding the checkpoint and this was their probable cause.

Sounded fishy, I don't know if it was challenged.

2. It's not that I have anything to hide.
I don't smoke weed, I don't drink. I will have a gun in the car but that's legal. I just don't want to go through the hassle if I can avoid it. And I try to limit my intrercations W/ the police to the minimum possible level

3. Me neither, but the questionable constitutionality of it should concern us all. nt
