New evidence challenges official picture of Kennedy shooting
The official record states that senator Robert F Kennedy, like his brother before him, was killed by a crazed lone gunman. But the assassination of a man who seemed to embody so much hope for a bitterly divided country embroiled in an unpopular war still troubles this nation.

Little about the official explanation of the events at the Ambassador Hotel on June 5 1968 makes sense. Now a new forensic analysis of the only audio recording of the fatal shots has given new weight to a controversial theory that there were in fact two shooters, and that the man convicted of Kennedy's killing — Sirhan Sirhan - did not fire the fatal shots.

Following his victory speech to supporters after clinching a tight democratic primary victory in California, Kennedy left the podium in the Embassy ballroom to address a press conference.

But the shortcut he and his entourage took through the hotel's pantry quickly descended into bloody mayhem. As Kennedy turned from shaking hands with two of the kitchen staff, a gunman stepped forward and began firing. Kennedy was hit by four shots including one which lodged in the vertebrae in his neck and another which entered his brain from below his right ear. He died in hospital the following day. Five other people were injured but survived.

1. good article. Thanks. None of the "random" assassinations were, in fact... "random"
or "coincidentally" carried out by "lone nuts."

They were designed to benefit the very people in power now.

2. I have never believed the "official" story of EITHER kennedy assassination
and who knows what has been done to the records and evidence that has been held in secret all these decades? when, and if, they are finally released, there is no guarantee that those records will be anything approaching the truth.

(even I, who know nothing about weapons, know that the "single bullet" crap of JFK's shooting was pure nonsense.

3. Evidence like this usually...
1) got debunked (or at least "dirtied up") a long time ago
2) vanished "mysteriously" and no one was concerned why

So, how did this bit of tape manage to survive for almost 50 years? Was it in the archives?

Not that I would not be interested in the analysis; but I do think its way too late to reverse the verdict of the official propagandists.

4. It was discovered in 2004

from Wiki

When the shooting commenced, Pruszynski was at the north side of the ballroom and descending a small set of steps at the east end of the ballroom's makeshift stage where the Senator had spoken. Although he did not know his recorder was still recording at that point, Pruszynski just happened to be holding his microphone tilted upward and pointed toward the pantry, and above the heads of the crowd on the ballroom floor beneath him. Doors between Pruszynski and the shooting were open at the time.

...

The significance of the Pruszynski recording was unknown for 36 years until early 2004, when an American journalist obtained a copy of the California State Archives's crude cassette dub of the original recording. The original is the only audio recording known to have captured the actual Robert Kennedy shooting. Two other sound recordings made that night by newsmen Andrew West of Mutual Broadcasting System radio affiliate KRKD and Jeff Brent of the Continental News Service recorded only the shooting's immediate aftermath.

5. Well that is very interesting. It will be sad to watch them dismember this evidence...
a genuine 50 year old tape that hasn't had a chance to be lost or stolen. Sort of like finding the Dead Sea Scrolls and reading the Gospel according to Mary Magdalen.

I will be watching this story.

Thanks.
