An expulsion from Expelled!
I came across http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2008/03/expelled.php">this over at Pharyngula:

There is a rich, deep kind of irony that must be shared. I'm blogging this from the Apple store in the Mall of America, because I'm too amused to want to wait until I get back to my hotel room.

I went to attend a screening of the creationist propaganda movie, Expelled, a few minutes ago. Well, I tried … but I was Expelled! It was kind of weird — I was standing in line, hadn't even gotten to the point where I had to sign in and show ID, and a policeman pulled me out of line and told me I could not go in. I asked why, of course, and he said that a producer of the film had specifically instructed him that I was not to be allowed to attend. The officer also told me that if I tried to go in, I would be arrested. I assured him that I wasn't going to cause any trouble.

I went back to my family and talked with them for a while, and then the officer came back with a theater manager, and I was told that not only wasn't I allowed in, but I had to leave the premises immediately. Like right that instant.

If that was the whole story, it'd "just" be an amusing - or troubling - instance of creationists going out of their way to shield their own 'science' from even being seen by their opponents, much less discussing them with people who know what they're talking about.

But no. Oooooh no. Continue reading that for a super special bonus.

I'll be giggling for days...

1. I won't give it away, but that is really funny.
One would have to be an evolutionist to get it though. ;-)

8. This might be the funniest thing that I've read at Pharyngula.
This might be absolutely the funniest thing that I have read at Pharyngula.

P. Z. Myers goes to see Expelled at the Mall of America and he is expelled from Expelled by some cop (or mall security person --it's not clear which) who tells him he can't come in because a producer has specifically instructed him that he is not allowed to see the screening of this film.

P. Z. complies and his wife and daughter go on to see the film accompanied by RICHARD FUCKING DAWKINS!!!

Everyone knows that the Bad Astronomer is at least 9000 times cooler than PZ. ;)

But that is an epic IRL trolling mission!

From the blog of John M. Lynch, evolutionary biologist and an historian of biology at Arizona State University:

The Expelled boyos seem to be tightening up their act. Now you can’t RSVP for future events all of which have been removed from the list. Compare this (yesterday) with this.

You will need to use the links on the blog to compare; they are image files. However, the new page does tell you where to find screenings in case you are interested.

Added: The Wikipedia article for Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed has picked up on Meyer's exclusion, and provides many references that might be of interest.
