Please help!
The ban on horse slaughter may be delayed until next year! It's stuck in the Commerce Science and Transportation Committe. http://www.thoroughbredtimes.com/todaysnews/newsview.asp?recno=66711&subsec=1

You can help end this barbaric atrocity by faxing and calling the Committee Members: http://commerce.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=About.Members

I'm feeling very disheartened because the slaughter houses have increased their kills since HR 503 was passed by the House and now S. 1915 is being delayed by this Committee.

The horses are not killed humanely, they are tortured.

Please call the Committee members, fax and pass the word on this. We are being sabotaged by the "pro slaughter groups".

Thanks so much for anything you can do.

Sol.

3. Only HR 503 has been passed, the Senate needs to pass...
please call your Senators and any other Senators you want to call. We /need/ this passed. I'm about to post something else.

*sighs* It's just awful. :(

5. Considering the condition of our country, with millions who have no...
...health insurance, with our national wealth going to the Pentagon, with New Orleans in shambles, with, with, with, a million issues I could go on and on about, that our leaders are spending OUR tax dollars, to keep trying to figure out how they can murder horses. This issue never fails to amaze me of how we have no representative government in our land...:puke:

and the fact is that these horses are being murdered to be eaten as a /delicacy/ by Europeans and Asians.

I was actually told by Senator Inhofe's office (Oklahoma) that we were feeding hungry people! I told him that he was completely incorrect and that hungry people could not afford horsemeat. It's a delicacy. He then said, "I guess I was mis-informed". What a dope!

I double that: :puke:
