Quick preemptive apology, Cooks and Bakers
I posted a little snark thread in GDP that ended with what sounds in retrospect to be a shot at y'all. I sincerely didn't mean it that way. The target was supposed to be the increasingly noisy GDP. I won't link it, but if anyone sees it, sorry! I think it'll die a quick death but I tacked an explanation on about the last line. Now let us pray for its quick demise.

Love lurking here, BTW. I can't cook worth crap, though I make a pretty fair turkey chili. I just like to read about food.

1. I thought it was funny
but rather than making someone's souffle drop over here, it kind of deflated the point you were trying to make. I agreed with your post entirely but the C&B remark at the end, kinda comes across as saying that you were just kidding about the rest, like the punchline to a joke. Am I just rambling or does that make any sense? :hi:

2. If you read cookbooks the way normal people read novels
you are a foodie. Same thing for any article that features a glossy photo of food (hint: half the photo is plastic, the other is raw, food photographer's tricks). Eventually, you'll have absorbed enough theory that when you're confronted with the necessity of an empty wallet and a variety of unfriendly ingredients in the cupboard, you'll be able to come up with something that will both nourish you and taste reasonably good. You will be met with high praise for your culinary genius.

Or you'll experience a total flop. Some of those can be fun, too.

5. I think I've perfected the flop part, pretty much.
As to the culinary genius, well, not yet anyway.

3. I'll post here instead of your GDP thread because that
would be acknowledging it & then I would would have to alert. :hide:

Anyhoo, I've never, ever had a souffle fall.
