Hot sauce question
I had some friends bring several bottles of hot sauce back from Jamaica. It wasn't your ordinary red pepper sauce, it was more or less clear. Ingredients included lots of herbs, Jamaican rum, peppers (not red) and a little vinegar. The labels looked like desktop publishing (and not real professional at that). Yeah, it was hot but it had a lot of herbal flavor and spice other than shear heat.

I actually found a website with the product but google can't help me now. Haven't been able to find it since. Anybody out there familiar with something like this?

One of the most extensive supplies of hot sauce I've ever seen.

Hot Sauce with some variety in the herbs. It used Jamaican rum as a base instead of vinegar.

Thanks for the link tho.

5. Not there, but thanks for the links.
The ingredients read "made with jamaican rum, peppers, herbs and spices". The base was clear but there were so many herbs it looked sort of brown when everything was suspended.

Like I said, the labels looked home made so it might have been something from a private kitchen.

Might just have to experiment with it myself.

4. Was it more like a Jerk sauce?
Like Jerk seasonings in vinegar?

6. No, it was called hot sauce. The ingredient list included rum, herbs and spices.
It may have been a home made concoction.

If I ever get to Jamaica I'll have a good time looking for it.
