Damn you Pepin!

I had 4 artichokes in the fridge, which I had gotten because I was inspired by a recent episode of the Jacques Pepin show, where he shows how easy it is to wield a sharp knife.

So now I have a DEEP gash in my thumb, resultant from my attempts at impersonating an experienced chef with a paring knife and an artichoke.

:shakes fist at Pepin: Damn you man! Damn you I say!

1. Big knife, no gash

I found that one out when I had 50 water chestnuts to peel. The massive Chinese cleaver did a better and safer job than the paring knife did.

All those red blood cells in the recesses of the artichoke will boost your protein for the day. Look on the bright side.
