this is the one that puts all of us cooks through our paces. Unlike other holidays, there isn't anything else really to it except the food, that's where most of the focus seems to be. I'm sure everyone here cooked up a storm and loved every minute of it! And I'm sure you all shone brightly. I feel like our accomplishments here are very much a group effort of sharing and assisting one another hone our skills and stretch our talents. For this group I am very thankful.
I was supposed to get a day off out of these four off work but it never happened. LOL However, it was nice to do it at a little easier pace most of the time and not be exhausted from a day at work. Those nights don't see much real cooking, I'm afraid.
We celebrated the holiday three times, once with family, once with each other, and last night with another couple. Altogether, I roasted two turkeys, made two batches of stuffing, two batches of sweet potatoes, two batches of 24 wheat rolls each, two batches of cranberries, one batch of caramelized fresh brussels sprouts.
Today was back to the usual stuff in preparation for breakfast and lunches for the week. Yogurt was made, molasses cookies with raisins, and sticky buns. The kitchen is cleaned and dishes done. Aaah!
Kick back, relax, and enjoy the rest of your evenings. You've no doubt earned it! :hi:
