Make it with Frangelico instead of rum. Trust me on this. :9

And now...I go to bed. G'night all. :hi:

3. We've been making it on Christmas Eve
almost since we've been married. We figured just because we don't believe in Christmas anymore was absolutely no reason to deprive ourselves of tiramisu! LOL

We use this recipe but don't use the sponge part of it. I buy the hard little imported ladyfingers, instead:

http://www.heavenlytiramisu.com/rcp-111.htm

We also don't follow the modifications in parentheses in the recipe, either, just follow the mascarpone cream recipe and assembly instructions to the letter with the exception of the Frangelico substitution. We don't drink and I never really cared that much for rum, anyway, so I figured, hmmmm...Italian dessert, Italian liquor...it could work. And it does just beautifully. :9

It really is the most heavenly dessert out there, isn't it? :)

4. The crisp ladyfingers is the only way to go
Thoses limp things they sometimes display next to the strawberries are repulsive. One must have crisp Italian ladyfingers for tiramisu.

5. Totally!
But there have been times when I haven't been able to find them and, in a pinch, bought several frozen pound cakes which I sliced and toasted them crisp on cookie sheets in the oven.
