3. No one. If you remember your science

that you can heat glass until it's malleable (technically it's a liquid at room temperature, but a microscopically low liquid).

So, heat it up, you reduce it down, maybe add some fresh glass and other ingredients, and reshape your scanner panel.

NOW you've got a more intensive-flavored glass scanner panel.

Let it cool, and while you're doing it, go out to the shed and enjoy your cold beer from your jet-powered beer cooler

5. I never knew ......

.... meat grease was molecularly compatible with glass. I thought one had to first remove the meat grease before one could effectively reshape the glass *and* retain its clarity. I was taught that meat grease gave the reshaped glass a cataract-like cloudiness.
