I already buy fair trade Cafe Feminino coffee from one of our coop suppliers. Purchases directly support the women in Mexico, Central and South America who grow it. This particular supplier takes no profit on it but splits it between the Cafe Feminino growers and Grounds for Health, as well as local women's charities. His daughter sells unsweetened fair trade baking chocolate and cocao nibs.
When I want eating chocolate, I usually buy Endangered Species because 10% it's profits support restoring the habitats of endangered animals and fair labor practices for the workers that harvest the cocao beans. Even though it wasn't on MENews list, I think it tastes fantastic. I had some Friday that was flavored with cherry and yesterday it was a piece with mint. Both were delicious!
