They couldn't believe their good fortune
A warm night here, so we grilled. Sparkly got tofu and I had a steak. Spuds, fresh grilled asparagus, and salad rounded things out.

Being a Sunday, and shopping late, there wasn't much of a steak selection. No chuck eyes. I got a chuck cross blade, part of which is, in fcat, the end of the chick eye. The other half is pretty chewy.

I got stuffed at about the end of that part of the steak that was the chuck eye.

I cut it up and fed it piece by piece to the dogs. I took them out onto the deck and gave them each a piece in turn till all was gone.

They were very happy.

1. Poor bastard

You have a Border Collie too?

We have a Border Collie mix - part Border Collie, part schizophrenic.

Is Chick Eye a cut, or was that a typo?

3. Chick eye is that part of the steak cut from the lower ocular lobe of the .....
.... more cowardly cattle breeds.

What? I gotta 'splain everything to you?

4. Paid full price for them steaks, did ya?
How much? Enquiring minds, and all that?

Your dinner sounds perfect, and, of course, sharing with your owners was almost mandatory, no? I like how you've gift-wrapped them.

Don't faces like that just melt you?

I had one of those - half border collie, half springer spaniel. The immortal kind:

7. That dog's a cutie
Eyes that melt ya!

The steak was $3.99/lb ..... same as they usually sell the chuck eye for. The back half of the steak was tough. In the OP, "chewy" was euphemistic.

8. Those were their Christmas suits.
They hated them.

Little tolerates.

Big is openly embarrassed.

'sgotta be below zero for me to wear long pantz.

I have shoveled snow barefoot. Spakly's little piano students were amazed to see "beach footprints" in our driveway in the winter.

10. I can see that in their demeanor.
I still think Little has Sparkly's eyes. (Little is the the black and white on the bottom, right? I can never remember these things. )

13. we,sadly, are outnumbered
so if we spring for anything with a bone, Mr. K has to cut up the bone to have three

because, as you know, every body has to get equal bits in pack order. old girl, bubba and then the needle nosed fuzzy butt baby.

lucky pups you have there

14. Pack order
Yup, that's always how I feed them. Little is the alpha. Big totally defers.

Funny, though. I have to give Big antihistamines. I wrap them in a sliver of Velveeta. When this first started, I gave Little a piece than Big. Little loves cheese. I mean she REALLY loves cheese.

But she hates Velveeta. She spits it out. She could care less if Big gets a hunk three times a day.

Dawgz .......
