Help A DUer Win A Recipe Contest

With my husband out of work and me being the sole breadwinner I have been doing my best to try to earn a little money here and there trying something new like entering a recipe contest. For me it was a big leap of faith. Seems like I've been doing a lot of leaping lately and in this caase I just can't believe it but I'm actually a finalist in a recipe contest. I can win some free groceries. I need people to vote for my recipe.

If I come in second or third I can win $500 in groceries. That would be such a blessing.

so many great things have happened to me since I've joined the DU and I think the positive "yes we can" attitude has just wiped off on me. I don't know if I ever would have entered a recipe contest before but now I'm a finalist. Wow. It's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

20. Make chili, but instead of using chili powder, use Berbere an Ethiopian

spice mixture. Use a lot of tomato paste, beef broth, onion, bay leaf, black pepper, GARLIC. red wine and a half stick of butter. Beans not needed. Make it nice and thick. I thickened it with flour. I used stew beef cut up in smaller pieces. Serve with an IPA or APA, saltines, or whole wheat bread. It's also good over brown rice.
