He inquired afterward if I was trying to sneak some sushi into him? He has a mild sushi phobia and I have talked about introducing him to it (at a RESTAURANT, lol).

No, it didn't taste like fish. He's just like that.

2. I think he had the bulgur confused with rice, too. He isn't accustomed
to culinary adventure, being a bachelor who lives on frozen crap thrown into the microwave (I'm working on that).

3. LOL.
Reminds me of my friend's husband. When she met him, his claim to culinary fame was his "discovery" that "you can eat hot dogs right out of the refrigerator. You don't even need to cook 'em!"

4. you can, but you shouldn't
the liquid that coats hot dogs can carry listeria. I would never let anyone I care about eat a hot dog straight from the pkg.

5. Yes, she was appalled by this particular eating habit and
quickly changed it.

As for hot dogs in general, I'm not sure anyone should eat them-- raw or cooked.

6. I buy a package of turkey hot dogs or good kosher dogs about once every
5 years, and enjoy hell out of them, with good grainy mustard and pickle relish, or maybe fresh raw homemade sauerkraut.

But yeah, they have everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink in them.

7. Your gentleman friend has a wooden palate
If you can succeed in weaning him off oversalted junk food and fast food, maybe you'll have a fighting chance, but don't bet the rent on it.

9. Well, "boyfriend" just didn't seem right - he's 53 and NOT a boy nor even close,
and "boyfriend" tends to carry a connotation of mutual exclusivity, which isn't where we are. But he is my SPECIAL friend, lol.

12. Must be that time of year...just saw your post today.
I made a big batch of it yesterday. Husband isn't fond of
it but am sharing it with other family members. Do you use
mint in yours? Maybe there's a particular ingredient in it
that your friend doesn't enjoy...personally, i love it........z

14. yep yep
I made the best bowl of tabbouli I've ever done last week. I have some wonderful mint growing by the back door -- don't know the variety, but it made damned good tabbouli!
