Speaking of spam
I was reading a post in GD where the OP listed a sampling of recent subject lines and it got me curious. So I put on my hazmat suit and went to my Junk folder which I always empty without even looking in. And there I noticed something interesting about the dates. The first 11 have a year of /38. Then there's a few from /09. And a whole bunch dated tomorrow. I can understand the 'tomorrows' maybe coming from somewhere across the date line but I was wondering how one tricks e-mail into believing the year is 2038? Actual messages from the future? That makes it almost tempting to read one. :eyes:

1. Speculating here but I think
the sender had access to the sending server. Perhaps they adjusted the time, for whatever reason, on the sending server. Most likely to get their mail to the top of the list when sorted by date.

Spammers are an ingenious bunch. I had to install a new mail server last week, on a fresh domain with a new server. After the install I was tweaking and testing and watching the activity log. I saw dictionary attacks only a few hours after the install. DNS hadn't even fully propagated.

:wtf:
