I Blog A Lot Here, Don't Email Much Anymore... But I Have One Stupid Question.
Recently, I had to replace my computer because it got zapped and I still get a lot of email from people. It just builds up and I check some of it out from time to time. Anyway, several emails won't open up because it says I need to find the correct attachment or temporary file to open it up.

How do I do this, and why won't it just open it anyway? I KNOW... stupid because it's seems this should be PC Basics 101!!

1. What email application are you using?
Most email is web based these days, so if you are using something like Outlook Express, it may be possible to go to the email provider's website instead.

2. Are they "PPS" files?
"Summary: PPS files are PowerPoint presentations and you'll need a compatible viewer to view them. You may also need to create or repair the PPS file association"

4. I Suppose They Are PPS Files... Thanks For the Links....
I don't really want to buy Power Point, seems like it was free before, or at least I could get all my attachments, no matter what!

5. There are two free versions IIRC
I know I was using one on my XP machine. A friend would often put powerpoint attachments in his e-mails to me. So I downloaded a PPS viewer from Microsoft and I would download the attachments to my computer and then open them with the viewer.

Hmmm, I use hotmail, I often have to tell hotmail to "allow conent" if I want to see stuff like pictures that are attached. Maybe you need to look at that too.

The bottom link I gave, doesn't it take you to where you can get a free viewer?

7. Download Open Office
It will recognize PowerPoint files and open them right up. Why shell out the money for some MicroShaft BS when you can do the same thing with an open source application. Also if you use Gmail they can often open email documents of questionable origins without infecting your machine from some malware.
