 New to text messaging . how do I ..
I did send a text message to someone with a phone number. Fine.

If it says this >
466453 ('GOOGLE' on most devices) .. what does that mean? It won't let me use that for the phone#.
Where do you do that?

Thanks!

1. You want to text Google?

I'm not sure what you are asking, if it's about the way your particular phone works I'm not sure. But I've texted Google for movie showtimes and it's pretty cool if you have nothing else handy. You can also use it to do Google search for other things. Here's more info: http://www.google.com/sms

The method depends on the phone, but for instance, if you send the message "Movies 90210" to the number 46645, Google will send you back a message listing movies playing in that area. And it will let you reply with numbers for more info on specific listings.

On a side note, Google also has 1-800-goog411 which is free directory assistance for business listings too,

2. Thanks .. that's what I'm asking .. HOW
"if you send the message "Movies 90210" to the number 46645"

I have a Sanyo phone. It seems to be pretty standard as far as features go.
It wants a 7-digit phone number. ??? So how do I "SEND" it to a 5-digit number?

3. Hmmm, I never had a Sanyo phone
On my old Razr phone I can write a text message, and then send it to a prexisting number or a number I type in on the fly.

So I'm not sure why Sanyo would insist on a 7 digit number with all the 5 digit numbers out there. I'm almost totally sure it must be possible.

Maybe there is someone else out there with a Sanyo phone that would know. Otherwise, as a last resort I guess your cell phone company's tech support???
