Is quicktime ok or is there some other free program that is better?
I have an old camera that takes a minute or two of video. I finally dug out the owner's manueal and it says to use quicktime. I am pretty sure it worked on the old computer but I don't remember if it had quicktime or what I watched on.

I tried to watch using nero and windows media player but they both say they can't read the file.

Any advice would be appreciated before I undertake some long and possibly infective download. ;-)

I keep forgetting you're on dialup when I start to offer suggestions, so I'm restarting ... I was gonna suggest getting the K-Lite Codec pak, which has Media Player Classic and the quicktime codec with it, and you can use that to view them. But, it's a huge download for dialup.

You can get Quicktime Alternative (~12MB download) or QT Lite (~11MB), which is the same but without Media Player Classic in it. Given the relatively small difference in size, I'd go with the larger package.

I know that'll take awhile, but it should work.

OnEdit: I guess a link would be nice, huh?
