I know this isn't the forum for it, but this is the forum where I know the most people, and I don't want it to have mass exposure to the idiots in GD who think this is a game.
Came to hang out at DU for a bit today to try to distract my mind from what's going on in Houston, but that's been a fruitless exercise with all the whacked out idiots spouting their conspiracy theories and, once again, denigrating those without the resources just to hop on a plane and take off two weeks ahead of time and stay at a posh hotel where all their needs are cared for.
This will be my last thread for several days it looks like, and I just wanted to say before the power goes that I appreciate you all. Take care of yourselves. I'll take care of me, and I'll see you on the other side of all this.
And, no, I'm not in Galveston. I'm in Houston proper, and the water won't be a problem here. Wind will. The extent of the destruction no one here can really say. We'll survive it, but we may be dealing with near 100 degree heat and 80%+ humidity for a week or more without power. Got food and water for a week. After that, if power's not back on, I start walking to the airport where I'll pick up a ticket waiting for me on the first flight out of here that lets me take my cat with me.
Thanks for indulging me ... just a little nervous and frustrated. The waiting is unnerving.
