Easy question for this group, regarding DU profile:
How do you insert an image with a hyperlink within your signature?

I've copied and pasted the url of the image into the signature line (and it's within size parameters easily), but I keep getting an error message: more than one image in signature line.

There's not more than one image.

Once that is settled, how to make it a hyperlink? They say no html -- do people insert these hyperlink images elsewhere, like in the comments perhaps?

Thanks. :)

First off, can you paste the URL of the image here so we can see? Does the url end with either .gif or .jpg?

Second, I'm not sure about hyperlinking an image, but if I were to try, I'd use this:

< link: URL |Text >

URL without the http:// part and I'd put the link to the image in the Text part. Don't know if it would work though

edit: ok, now I have used this feature. Are you sure that some people use hyperlinked images in their sig line? I think when you try to use the syntax above, it sees the link twice and thus thinks there are two images. If you only just paste the image link in the sig box, starting with the http part, it seems to work.

In the "html lookup table" provided by DU, since it says "HREF link with text display" - that seems to indicate that the HREF tag only works with TEXT display, not with an image. Unless you know for sure that images can be linked in sig lines. I usually have the sig lines turned off, so I never even see them

2. I believe you're correct....
I thought I had seen hyperlinked images in the sig line, but maybe I've gone crazy and that's not the case. LOL.

I did discover how to insert the link, with just text, plus an image, but not a hyperlinked image. But that's fine, at least it finally worked. :)

Yes, it's a jpg image.

Thank you very much! :)

3. Here's my code ...
You just wrap the hyperlink around the image, same as in
standard HTML, just with the DU message board peculiarities.

My sig, of course, has the Defective By Design logo. Click
it, and it takes you to the website.

[link:www.defectivebydesign.org/|http://defectivebydesign.org/sites/nodrm.civicactions.net/files/images/elim_lg_btn.gif][br]Go
for the eyes, Boo. Go for the EYES!

5. Ah, cool. thanks
I guess I was just trying to use the link to the image as the link destination (just because it was already in my clipboard) and then that's why it was saying "you can't have two images" - but this is good to know that you can indeed make an image link, long as the link does not link to an image (LOL)
